A teacher and part-time student who uses Intelecare reminder emails to stay healthy travels to Manhattan for a free session with celebrity stylist Nick Arrojo
New Haven, CT - August 31, 2009 - The August winner of Intelecare's monthly celebrity haircut sweepstakes juggles a job, a family, school, and hobbies - leaving little time to keep medications and doctor's appointments straight. As a third grade teacher pursuing her master's degree, and with a husband who works at different job sites as an electrician, Cheryl DiBenedetto needed a flexible and customizable way to keep her family healthy.
Both Cheryl and her husband needed regular, reliable medical reminders, but as individuals they had different schedules and different needs. While Cheryl wanted email reminders for her medication sent to her Blackberry, her husband required cell phone text messages that could reach him no matter where he was working. Intelecare offered a medical reminder system that fit into both of their lives.
"With both my husband and I having such busy schedules, Intelecare reminders were a huge help with managing medications and doctor's appointments," DiBenedetto explained. "I love that I can get email reminders and he can get text messages. The ability to choose how and when we receive our reminders makes it such a convenience."
In addition to the medication and appointment reminders, DiBenedetto also began benefiting from Intelecare's rewards opportunities and health education information. Winning the monthly Intelecare contest for a celebrity haircut from renowned stylist Nick Arrojo was a surprising extra perk. Arrojo, from TLC's popular makeover show, What Not To Wear, and the owner of Arrojo Studio in New York City.
"I am a fan of the show and I was thrilled at the opportunity to meet Nick Arrojo and actually have him cut my hair," DiBenedetto said. "I was a little intimidated going to New York City but Nick made me feel very comfortable. Everybody in the salon was welcoming. I was so happy when he gave me a cut that was still long but added a lot of layers, giving me movement and body."
Arrojo completed the cut using his personal line of styling products, which all Intelecare Plus and Intelecare Platinum subscribers receive discounts for.
"Cheryl and her husband are like so many couples - they have different day-to-day schedules, different mobile devices, and different preferences for communication," said Emily Stanziale, a director of marketing solutions at Intelecare. "At Intelecare, we want every individual to be able to create his or her own plan for medical adherence success using our tools, and we would like every family to make their continued health and wellbeing a daily priority."
A new sweepstakes winner will be chosen at random each month to travel to Arrojo Studio for a free haircut and style. In addition, the winners of a quarterly sweepstakes will be given a complete makeover by Arrojo that will include a cut, coloring, makeup and dinner for two in New York City.
